š Orange Summer 2026 Festival: A Weekend We'll Remember All Year Long
š Orange Summer 2026 Festival Has Come to a Close!
Our Third International Theatre Festival, Orange Summer, has officially come to an end.
This year, the festival grew so much that one weekend was no longer enough! We gathered over two weekends at two wonderful venues: the LCA stage in Boston and the RSM Summer Camp in New Hampshire.
Looking back, it feels like much more than a festival. It was a small theatrical journey filled with new friendships, rehearsals, pre-show excitement, late-night discussions about performances, applause, happy tears, and heartfelt hugs at the closing ceremony.
Every theatre brought something unique to the stage.
Together with Romeo & Juliet Art SpaceĀ (director Irina Karpenko), we wandered through Paris in the elegant and beautifully crafted performance Secrets of Paris. Stylish, sophisticated, and unmistakably French, it even featured one of the festival's most talked-about performers ā a bright red suitcase!
The Wandering Lampshade TheatreĀ (director Zhenya Shekhter) once again impressed the audience with its fresh and contemporary production Rehearsal, full of humor, energy, and creativity.
The performing arts company Smile GroupĀ (director Sasha Sinai) dazzled the audience with vibrant lighting, beautiful puppetry, and actors who didn't simply manipulate the puppets but truly brought them to life on stage.
The Alma Mater Youth TheatreĀ (director Ekaterina Kerova) presented Dandelion WineĀ - a thoughtful and touching performance about childhood, time, and life itself. It was one of those productions that leaves you wanting to sit quietly and reflect long after the curtain falls.
Resonance StudioĀ (director Nelya Galiakbarova) brought an entirely different atmosphere with Where Is Charlie?Ā Filled with humor and energy, the performance kept audiences guessing until the very last scene.
The Teremok Youth TheatreĀ (director Anastasia Vorontsova) delighted everyone with the lively musical vaudeville Ah, Vaudeville!
The first stage of our theatrical marathon concluded with Quarter "Zh"Ā and their colorful production of MarriageĀ - a warm, funny, and heartfelt comedy about hopes, doubts, and human relationships.
One of the festival's most exciting discoveries was Little CompanyĀ (director Darya Erysheva-Melnikova), joining Orange Summer for the very first time. Their production of The Canterville GhostĀ stood out for its wonderful musical numbers, charming Victorian atmosphere, and an impressive handcrafted Ghost operated by three actors.
The Alma Mater Middle TheatreĀ (director Ekaterina Kerova) invited audiences Into the World of Fairy Tales, featuring imaginative costumes, unique sets, and beloved fairy-tale characters seen in a fresh new light.
The Alma Mater Senior TheatreĀ (director Alexander Petetsky) offered an original interpretation of Pushkin's Ruslan and Lyudmila, giving this beloved classic a fresh perspective.
The festival concluded with a delightful mini-performance based on the works of Daniil Kharms, presented by the Adult and Youth Alma Mater theatres under the direction of Mikhail Rotenshtein. The audience's laughter continued right through the final curtain.
Every performance was recognized by our thoughtful, fair, and supportive jury, and outstanding actors received medals and diplomas for their achievements.
Each production was unique. No two performances looked alike, no two directors told their stories in the same way, and every company created its own unforgettable atmosphere. That diversity is what makes Orange Summer such a special festival.
Every participant left with new experience, new friendships, fresh inspiration, and a renewed love for theatre.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all the directors, teachers, actors, parents, volunteers, chaperones, and everyone who helped make this festival possible.
We are especially grateful to our sponsors and supporters: The Inna Tsukrova Charitable Foundation, the Association of Russian-Speaking Theatres of the USA, Alma Mater Studio, RSM, Del Olmo Law, Svetlana Sheinina eXp Realty, ISAL, Musical Journeys Academy, and Baza Newton.Ā Your support made this festival possible.
Thank you for being part of Orange Summer 2026.
See you at Orange Summer 2027!Ā šš
