🌞 Our Maslenitsa 2026!

In this, our 15th Anniversary year, our Youth Theater decided: since we were going to bid winter farewell, we should do it in style! So we organized a Maslenitsa festival for nearly 100 theatergoers!

The performers and parents had a chance to sled and ski down the hills—some gracefully, others very creatively (it is theater, after all!). In the evening, we warmed up with hot tea and pancakes, and played traditional and modern Maslenitsa games with the buffoons and Baba Yaga! We rode horses (even if they were improvised, but they were still full of fire!), competed in agility contests, danced, sang, laughed, and made plenty of joyful noise.

The highlight of the evening was the ceremonial burning of the winter effigy.

The most devoted parents stayed until late at night, singing along to guitar songs.

Thanks to everyone who braved the road, the cold, the hills and the endless “let’s do it again!”

With company like this, no winter is scary.
