In August, our studio hosted another week of theatrical-scientific-artistic holidays. In one week, the participants of our summer program made a whole trip around Japan!

As part of the theatre classes, we worked on acting, studied traditional Japanese theatre, learned roles and national Japanese dances, and also staged a real performance of "Puss in Boots" in Japanese style.

Participants brought Mount Fuji to life, built an indestructible Tokyo Tower, and created an unsinkable fleet. They made traditional kokeshi dolls, fugu fish, folded origami cranes, and created puppet storks.

The kids tried out the Japanese technique of ink and brush: they painted golden koi carp, made kimonos from recycling materials for the characters in the play, and even tried on the role of Japanese chefs by preparing sushi.

We also learned to carefully sort rice with chopsticks, built houses and cars from Lego, cardboard, and even real bricks, and had fun playing board games.

The whole of Japan in one week!

How it was you can see in our video
